The transesterification plant

The Transesterification plant is able to process 200 tons per day continuously, through methylation in a basic environment of vegetable and/or animal oils and fats, generating, in addition to the crude methyl ester (FAME), a valuable by-product (Glycerine) which is subjected to distillation for the recovery and reuse, after rectification, of the solvent used for the reaction, the glycerine thus obtained is simultaneously used within the production cycle for the production of esterified or stored oil and subsequently destined for sale.

The Transesterification plant produces about 200 tons of raw biodiesel and 20 tons of glycerine daily.

This starts both from the refined oil that is produced by ILSAP's refining plant and using refined oils from other sources, purchased on the market or supplied by the customer.

The internal laboratory constantly checks the quality of what is produced, in particular the compliance of biodiesel with the EN 14214 standard.

In the same way, the quality of the glycerine obtained from the transesterification process is verified so that it is the best raw material for the chemical, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

The plant works in a continuous cycle 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
